Fluon

Used by antkeepers and scientists alike, Fluon is a well-known and extremely effective method of preventing escapes. With the use of a small paintbrush or some cotton, it can be applied in a 1-2 inch tall strip on the walls of a plastic or glass container. After 5-10 minutes, it will dry and become very slippery, preventing ants from walking across it. Depending on colony size and humidity levels, this barrier will last between 4 and 6 months. For best efficacy, we recommend diluting before use in a 1:4 fluon to water ratio, but anything of at least 1:8 should prevent most species from climbing it.

Orders of the 2 dram size include pre-diluted fluon and a paintbrush for easy application. This is the recommended option for most antkeepers, as it will last for a long time when only used on a few outworlds/setups.

Orders of the 1 oz and larger sizes include undiluted fluon and a syringe to remove fluon from the container. Instructions for use/storage are included with all orders. Only dilute immediately prior to use.
