Currently the biggest iteration in the Nature Line, the Rock Nest – Large can hold anywhere between 1,000 and 10,000 ants depending on size. Its 20 centimeter diameter and 1.5 cm of inside height gives approximately 440 cubic centimeters of living space for a colony to live in. The nest’s large, open chambers are designed to mimic those of natural nests under rocks. The Rock Nest – Large is a great option for housing mature colonies of many ant species. Each order includes a free syringe for watering the nest (needed every 5-10 days generally).
To wash nest, disassemble and hand wash in hot water. Let dry, and reassemble.

Being the first buyer of this nest, I have to say I love it a lot. I initially bought this nest to use for a Pheidole Obscurithorax colony, but after no longer keeping them by the time I purchased this nest, I decided to move my 1 year old Solenopsis Geminata colony into it. I have to say, they love the huge amount of space in this nest, and are taking advantage of it by stacking their brood and larvae. There is also plenty of areas for hydration and heated areas, and all in all I am definitely going to be purchasing another one when its time for their expansion. 10/10 Nest design too, and sure its an all plastic/acrylic nest, I think the construction and design is really sturdy and escape-proof! If it can handle Solenopsis, then what couldn’t it handle?
